According to analysis of data from the first four months of 2021, women, especially younger women, lead in the number of investment inquiries made to franchises. Women have surpassed men in share of total prospects for franchise ownership.

Women made up 47.8% of inquiries during January – August 2020. In the first four months of 2021, this percentage rose to 50.8%.

Gen-X and Gen-Y women made more inquiries than Baby Boomers with 50.8% and 50.6% versus 47.1% for Boomers.

One conclusion could be Gen-X and Gen-Y are interested in creating their own career path and are looking for options outside the corporate world. As younger people seek more time freedom and schedule flexibility, franchise ownership is a great option.
